
Earth Day 2022: Companies Accused of Greenwashing
When companies green it, they better mean it.
A class-action lawsuit was filed against The Procter and Gamble Company for allegedly misleadingly marketing that Ivory® Dish Detergent is “gentle on hands” and “designed to have mild, long-lasting suds” when, according to plaintiffs, the detergent contains a chemical allergen and is not mild and gentle on the skin as advertised. The lawsuit was originally filed in state court in December 2017 and transferred to federal court in January 2018. (Thompson et al v. The Procter and Gamble Company, Case No. 18-cv-60107, S. D. FL.)
