I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! Sprays

In October 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Unilever for allegedly falsely advertising I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! Spray as containing “0 calories” and “0g fat” when, according to plaintiffs, each 12-ounce bottle of the spray has 1160 calories and 124 grams of fat. Plaintiffs also claim that the company does not disclose that the spray is 40% vegetable oil and uses “unreasonably small” serving sizes that do not take into account how consumers use the spray. (Zizumbo et al v. Unilever United States, Inc., Case No. RG18925345, California State Court – Alameda)
