Uber’s “Safe Ride” Message to Women
In November 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Uber for, among other things, allegedly targeting women in its ads and promising a “safe ride” when the number of reported sexual assaults of female passengers by Uber drivers has allegedly increased and Uber has not taken steps to reduce the risk of such incidents. (Doe et al v. Uber Technologies, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-6571, N.D. Fla.)
