June 2018: The case was voluntarily dismissed because the parties reached a settlement agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed.

June 2017: Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint bringing similar allegations.

October 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Johnson & Johnson for allegedly misleadingly representing that REMBRANDT® Deeply White™ toothpastes and mouthwashes “deeply” whiten teeth and contain the same whitening ingredient that dentists use when, according to plaintiffs, the products do not work as advertised and contain “only a trace amount” of the advertised whitening ingredient. (Barber et al v. Johnson & Johnson, McNeil-PPC, Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc., and Ranir LLC, Case No. 16-cv-1954, C. D. CA.)
