January 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Bayer Healthcare and Beiersdorf for allegedly misleadingly marketing Coppertone sunscreens – including Water Babies Sunscreen Stick, Water Babies Sunscreen Lotion, Kids Sunscreen Lotion, and Sport Face Sunscreen Lotion – as being mineral-based when, according to plaintiffs, the sunscreens often contain more chemical active ingredients than mineral active ingredients. (Prescott et al v. Bayer Healthcare LLC, Beiersdorf, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-102, N. D. Cal.)
