The “Side Blind Spot Alert System” in Cheverolet Cruze Vehicles

In May 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against General Motors for allegedly representing that the “side blind spot alert system” in Chevrolet Cruze vehicles will reliably warn drivers when another vehicle is in their blind spots when, according to the plaintiffs, the sensors – which are located on the rear bumper – are easily damaged by water, snow, dirt, and other debris and the damage often makes the system inoperable. (Hudson et al v. General Motors LLC, Case No. 18-cv-11574, E.D. Mich.)
