In December 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Maybelline and L’Oréal for allegedly falsely adverting that Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, and L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte are oil-free when, according to plaintiffs, the cosmetics do contain oils. (Flaherty et al v. Maybelline LLC and L’Oréal USA Products, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-7244, N.D. Ill.)
