L’Oreal Paris® Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm

February 2017: This action was dismissed because the parties reached a settlement agreement, the terms of which have not been disclosed.

November 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against L’Oreal for allegedly falsely advertising L’Oreal Paris® Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm as having the ability to “repair[] up to one year of damage in 1 use” and “instantly repair[] the 5 signs of damage – split ends, weakness, roughness, dullness and dehydration” when, in reality, no ingredients in the product repair a year’s worth of hair damage “instantly” or after one use. (Lee et al v. L’Oreal USA, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-9266, S. D. NY.)
