April 2015: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against ConAgra Foods for allegedly deceptively packaging Slim Jim® products. The complaint alleges that the company deceptively uses You know when you buy a big bag of chips, and you’re all psyched for a feast, and then it turns out there are like, three chips in the bag? That bag is slack filled.ed packaging in order to make consumers believe they are purchasing more product than they actually are (i.e., the box is 5 ¼ inches high, 2 ½ inches long, and 5/8 inches wide and contains 4 Slim Jim® sticks that are 3 5/8 inches long and 3/8 inches in diameter). In addition, the complaint alleges that the Slim Jim® packaging represents that the “actual size” of the meat stick is 3 7/8 inches tall and 5/8 inches wide when the stick is really 3 5/8 inches tall and 3/8 inches in diameter.
