Allegations: Falsely advertising discounts and “buy one, get one” promotions
In March 2026, multiple class-action lawsuits were filed regarding the marketing of several brands of Meta AI “smart” glasses, including Ray-Ban and Oakley. The lawsuits allege that the glasses are falsely advertised as “designed for privacy” when videos recorded by the glasses – including footage from inside wearers’ homes and other private spaces – are sent to a subcontractor in Kenya to train Meta’s AI models.
