November 2020: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Audible alleging that its “free” trials of audiobooks violate California state law by:
- Failing to clearly and conspicuously present the terms of its automatic renewal and continuous service offers,
- Charging consumers’ credit and debit cards without getting their affirmative consent to automatically renew charges, and
- Failing to provide consumers with the terms of its automatic renewal and continuous service offers, including the cancellation policy.
