Van de Kamp and Ms. Paul’s Frozen Fish
Allegations: Falsely marketing products as “100% Whole Fish”
In January 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against ConAgra for allegedly falsely representing that margarines and vegetable oil spreads are healthful and not harmful to the cardiovascular system when, in reality, they contain dangerous levels of partially hydrogenated oil (PHO), which causes cardiovascular heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease, because it contains artificial trans fat (a toxin and carcinogen). (McFaddin et al v. ConAgra Brands, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-387, N. D. CA.)
