Allegations: Falsely marketing products as natural and containing “only real ingredients”
In January 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against ConAgra for allegedly falsely representing that margarines and vegetable oil spreads are healthful and not harmful to the cardiovascular system when, in reality, they contain dangerous levels of partially hydrogenated oil (PHO), which causes cardiovascular heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease, because it contains artificial trans fat (a toxin and carcinogen).
