January 2015: This action was stayed pending the outcome of a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals case, Jones v. ConAgra Foods.
November 2013: A class action complaint was filed against Conagra Foods, Inc. for allegedly mislabeling its products, including Fleischmann’s Original 60% Whipped Vegetable Oil Spread and Orville Redenbacher’s Buttery Flavor Popcorn Oil. Specifically, plaintiffs claim that the company labels products as being an “excellent source of omega 3 ALA” and containing “0g Trans Fat” without also disclosing they contain high levels of fat and other ingredients that could pose health risks, in violation of California law. (Swearingen et al v. Conagra Foods, Inc., Case No. 13-cv-05322, N. D. CA.).
