Nutrafol
TINA.org investigated Nutrafol, owned by Unilever, and found, among other things, that it (1) advertises its supplements as “clinically proven” to increase hair growth and prevent hair loss without FDA approval or competent and reliable scientific substantiation; (2) pushes consumers into automatically renewing subscription plans while failing to clearly and conspicuously disclose all material terms and conditions of the subscriptions; and (3) promotes products by way of influencers without ensuring they properly disclose their material connection to the company.
