August 2013: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Walgreen for allegedly falsely advertising its line of glucosamine and chondroitin supplements.  Specifically, the plaintiffs claim that Walgreen falsely promises that these products will “rebuild cartilage” when it knows that it is physically and biologically impossible to “rebuild” cartilage that has been lost or damaged. (Calvert et al. v. Walgreen Co., Case No. 13-cv-01161, W.D. Penn.)
