In February 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Toyota for allegedly misleadingly marketing 2018-2019 Toyota vehicles equipped with certain low-pressure fuel pumps as safe and dependable when, according to the complaint, the vehicles unexpectedly stall and the engines shut down due to a defect. (Cheng et al v. Toyota Motor Corp. et al, Case No. 20-cv-629, E.D.N.Y.)
