May 2016: Plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed claims against Diageo-Guinness USA, Inc. When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled.. The reasons for the dismissal have not been disclosed.

April 2016: A federal judge dismissed claims against Diageo-Guinness USA, Inc. finding that the packaging and labels would not mislead reasonable consumers into believing the beer is brewed in Jamaica with Jamaican ingredients. The Court gave Plaintiffs 15 days to file an amended complaint.

December 2015: Plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed claims against Diageo PLC When a complaint is dismissed without prejudice, an amended version of the complaint can be refiled.. The reasons for the dismissal have not been disclosed.

July 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Diageo plc and Diageo-Guinness USA Inc. for allegedly deceptively marketing Red Stripe® beer as being brewed in Jamaica with Jamaican ingredients when it is actually brewed in the Latrobe, Pennsylvania with ingredients from the United States. (Dumas et al v. Diageo plc and Diageo-Guinness USA Inc., Case No. 15-cv-1681, S. D. CA.)
