Odwalla Energy Bars and Beverages

In August 2016, Coca-Cola and Odwalla, Inc. moved to dismiss a false advertising class-action lawsuit regarding Odwalla energy bars and beverages. Specifically, the complaint, which was originally filed in 2013, alleges that the companies deceptively list “Evaporated Cane Juice” or “Organic Evaporated Cane Juice” as an ingredient in products when, in reality, they contain sugar or dried cane syrup. (Reese et al v. Odwalla, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company, Case No. 13-cv-947, N. D. CA.)
