June 2019: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Big Heart Pet Brands for allegedly falsely marketing Nature’s Recipe Salmon, Sweet Potato & Pumpkin Recipe dog food as being “Grain Free” when, according to the complaint, independent testing shows that the dog food contains significant amounts of corn and soy protein, which plaintiffs claim are grains. (Miller et al v. Big Heart Pet Brands, Inc., Case No. 19-cv-3613, N.D. Cal.)
