October 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Big Heart Pet Brands and Meow Mix, LLC for allegedly failing to disclose important information about Meow Mix (i.e., the alleged likelihood that the fish in its pet food is the product of slave labor). (Hughes et al v. Big Heart Pet Brands and Meow Mix, LLC, Case No. 15-cv-8007, C. D. CA.)
