Allegations: Misleadingly marketing products as containing “Real Beef” when they are made using low quality feed grade beef
In February and March 2018, multiple class-action lawsuits were filed against Big Heart Pet Brands for allegedly deceptively marketing Gravy Train dog food – including Chunks in Gravy with Beef Chunks, Chunks in Gravy with T-Bone Flavor Chunks, Lamb & Rice Chunks, and Chunks in Gravy with Chicken Chunks – as safe, healthy, and high quality food with the “purest” ingredients while failing to disclose that the dog food allegedly contains a drug that is used as a sedative and anesthetic for animals and is commonly used to euthanize dogs and cats.
