Allegations: Misleadingly marketing products as “lean”
In January 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against GNC Holdings for allegedly falsely representing that the primary ingredient in its Vitamin E Skin Oil is vitamin E oil when, according to plaintiffs, the main ingredient in the product is safflower oil, which is a vegetable oil that is used for cooking and does not provide the cosmetic benefits of vitamin E oil. (Brock et al v. GNC Holdings, Inc., Case No. 20-cv-785, C. D. Cal.)
