Wholesome Pantry Vanilla Almondmilk
Allegations: Deceptively marketing that vanilla is the characterizing flavor in products without disclosing that they also contain other flavoring ingredients
In November 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Wakefern Food Corp. for allegedly misleadingly representing that the main flavoring ingredient in Wholesome Pantry Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilk is vanilla when, according to the complaint, the ingredients list reveals that the product contains unspecified “Natural Flavor” rather than vanilla. Plaintiffs also allege that the marketing fails to disclose that the product contains artificial vanilla flavors as well. (Sidle et al v. Wakefern Food Corp., Case No. 20-cv-16336, D.N.J.)
