December 2017: Plaintiffs moved for preliminary approval of a settlement agreement that would provide class members with a $2 refund for each purchase, with a maximum award of $20 per household. In addition, the company agreed, but only for a period of at least three years, to stop using the terms “Natural” and “All Natural” for the products at issue.

2014: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against UTZ Quality Foods for allegedly falsely advertising potato chips, pretzels, tortilla chips, and salsas as being “All Natural” when, according to plaintiffs, they are not. The complaint was originally filed in 2014 and amended in 2015. (DiFrancesco et al v. UTZ Quality Foods, Inc., Case No. 14-cv-14744, D. MA.)
