July 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Stein Mart, Inc. for allegedly deceptively comparing its prices to fabricated higher prices in order to make consumers believe that they are saving money by buying its products. (Sperling et al v. Stein Mart, Inc., Case No. 15-cv-1411, C. D. CA.)
