July 2018: This case was transferred from a court in the eastern district of Pennsylvnia to one in the western district of Pennsylvania. (Corsale et al v. Sperian Energy Corp., Case No. 18-cv-996, W.D. Penn.)
May 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against the electricity supplier Sperian Energy for allegedly falsely offering low initial rates followed by variable rates that are based on market fluctuations and wholesale prices when, according to plaintiffs, consumers who switch to Sperian as their energy supplier are placed in a month-to-month variable plan after the “teaser rate” expires and pay more than double the market rate for energy. (Corsale et al v. Sperian Energy Corp., Case No. 18-cv-2194, E.D. Penn.)
