Samsung’s Energy Efficiency Claims

In November 2016, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Samsung for allegedly marketing televisions as “energy efficient” and “Energy Star” certified when, in reality, software automatically disables energy-saving features whenever picture settings are changed without the consumer’s knowledge. (Cali et al v. Samsung Electronics America, Inc., Case No. 16-cv-8495, C. D. CA.)
