Rolex Watches from HauteLook and Nordstrom

In August 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Nordstrom and HauteLook for allegedly falsely advertising Rolex watches. According to the complaint, the companies deceive consumers by:

  • deceptively offering authentic vintage Rolex watches when, according to plaintiffs, the watches contain non-Rolex parts;
  • misleadingly representing that watches are shipped directly from Rolex when, according to plaintiffs, they are shipped from different vendors and jewelry stores;
  • misleadingly overstating the value of watches;
  • misleadingly representing that watches are being sold at 50%-75% discounts;
  • falsely representing that the watches have been appraised when, according to plaintiffs, appraisals are for authentic Rolex watches and not the ones actually shipped; and
  • providing photographs of watches that are not the actual ones being sold.

(Stephens et al v. Nordstrom, Inc. and HauteLook, Inc., Case No. 17-cv-5872, C.D. Cal.)
