December 2014: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Nordstrom Rack for allegedly deceptively advertising pricing discounts. The complaint, which was transferred from state court to federal court in February 2015, alleged that the store misleadingly offers discounts off of false former prices (i.e., “Compare At” prices) that were overstated and did not represent the prevailing retail market price within the three months immediately before the advertisement, as required by Massachusetts law. (Shaulis et al v. Nordstrom, Inc. d/b/a Nordstrom Rack, Case No. 15-cv-10326, D. MA.)
