In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Gojo Industries for allegedly misleadingly advertising that Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer gels and foams “Kill[] 99.99% of Illness Causing Germs” and prevent colds, flus, and other illnesses when, according to plaintiffs, the company does not have adequate scientific support to make such claims.
