December 2015: A class-action lawsuit was filed against MusclePharm for allegedly deceptively packaging protein supplements, including Arnold Schwarzeneger Series Iron Whey, MusclePharm Combat Protein Powder, MusclePharm Combat Powder, MusclePharm Combat Black Weight Gainer, and MusclePharm FitMiss DELIGHT. According to the complaint, the company uses large, opaque containers that contain more than 45% empty space, which gives consumers the false impression that there is more product in the container than there actually is. (Gates et al v. MusclePharm Corp., Case No. 15-cv-2870, S. D. CA.)
