November 2014: A class-action lawsuit was filed against BMW of North America alleging that the marketing materials for the Mini Cooper overstate the vehicle’s fuel economy in miles per gallon (MPG) because BMW did not use the correct testing methods and the vehicle actually gets considerably less MPG than advertised. (Jarvis et al v. BMW of North America, LLC, Case No. 14-cv-654, M. D. FL.).
