Kyani Pyramid Scheme Claims

November 2020: The appeal in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was voluntarily dismissed, the reasons for which have not been disclosed.

May 2019: The appeal in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was stayed pending a decision from the Idaho state appeals court.

January 2019: Plaintiffs in the Idaho case filed a Notice of Appeal regarding the Court’s decision to compel arbitration.

December 2018: The Idaho state court granted defendants’ Motion to Compel Arbitration.

July 2018: The case was stayed pending the resolution of the issue of arbitrability by a state court in Idaho.

May 2018: Kyani and two of the individual defendants filed a Motion to Compel Arbitration.

November 2017: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Kyani (a multi-level marketing company that sells nutritional supplements), its CEO, and 100 unknown co-conspirators for allegedly operating an illegal pyramid scheme. The complaint also alleges, among other things, that the defendants falsely market products by using false labels and making illegal health claims. (Guo et al v.
