In November 2019, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Kemps for allegedly misleadingly representing that its Heavenly Vanilla Simply Crafted Premium Ice Cream is flavored with vanilla when, according to the complaint, the ingredients list shows that the ice cream also contains unspecified “natural flavor.” (Vinales et al v. Kemps LLC, Case No. 19-cv-10463, S. D. NY.)
