TINA.org complaint with FTC and DOJ urges renewed action to stop serial offender.
In March 2014, another class-action lawsuit was filed against IKO Manufacturing Inc. alleging that the company misleadingly markets its shingles, including, among others, the Renaissance, Aristocrat, and Nordic models. The complaint alleges that the company represents that the shingles will last for a specific period of time (ranging from 20 to 50 years or, in some cases, a lifetime) when the shingles are actually defective and fail before the end of the specified time period. In addition, plaintiffs claim that the company represents that the shingles meet certain industry standards when, in reality, they do not. (L’ Heureux et al v. IKO Manufacturing Inc., IKO Industries Inc., IKO Industries, LTD., IKO Midwest Inc., and IKO Production Inc., Case No. 14-cv-00091, D. ME.).
