In October 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Post Consumer Brands for allegedly misleadingly marketing Honey Bunches of Oats breakfast cereals as being sweetened with honey when, according to plaintiffs, the cereals contain small amounts of honey and the primary sweeteners are sugar, corn syrup, and other processed ingredients.
