Allegations: Misleadingly marketing products as “plant-based” when they contain ingredients that do not come from plants
December 2017: A federal judge granted final approval of the settlement agreement.

June 2017: Plaintiffs moved for preliminary approval of a settlement of this consolidated action. According to the proposed settlement terms, class members may receive a refund or credit to use toward purchases on Honest.com. The amount will depend on the amount each class member spent on products and whether the amount is verified through proof of purchase or company records. In addition, the company agreed to make changes to its formulas and marketing.
August 2016: Multiple similar class-action lawsuits (including the three summarized below) were transferred to the same court to be heard together. March and April 2016: Multiple class-action lawsuits were filed against The Honest Company for allegedly falsely marketing its multi-surface cleaner, laundry detergent, and dish soap as containing no sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) when they actually do contain the ingredient.
