February 2019: Plaintiffs filed a Notice of Appeal regarding the decision to dismiss.
December 2018: A federal judge dismissed this case concluding that the complaint fails to establish that the defendants are liable for the allegedly misleading label.
September 2018: Plaintiffs filed an amended complaint similarly alleging that Midway Importing and Grisi USA falsely market soaps as natural when, according to the complaint, they contain synthetic ingredients.
February 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Midway Importing for allegedly falsely marketing several varieties of Grisi Natural soaps – including Regenerative Aloe Vera, Balance Oat, Lightening Mother of Pearl, and Moisturizer Donkey’s Milk – as natural when, according to the complaint, the soaps contain synthetic ingredients. (Rivera et al v. Midway Importing, Inc., Case No. 18-cv-1469, C. D. CA.)
