In March 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Germ-X for allegedly misleadingly advertising that Germ-X hand sanitizers prevent and reduce infections from the flu and other viruses – including coronavirus – when, according to plaintiffs, there are no reliable studies to support such claims.
