December 2019: A state court judge preliminarily approved a class-action settlement that would resolve the Santiago and Thor cases. According to the settlement terms, class members who have proof of purchase showing their purchase price may receive either a full cash refund or a store credit voucher that equals their purchase price, while class members who do not have proof of the amount they paid but can provide evidence that they purchased the flooring may receive either a cash award or a store credit voucher in an amount that equals half of the price of the product. A final fairness hearing is scheduled for July 27, 2020.

December 2017: Another class-action lawsuit was filed against L.A. Hardwood Flooring for allegedly deceptively advertising that Eternity Floors laminate flooring meets the CARB requirements and the AC3 durability rating when, according to plaintiffs, testing shows the flooring emits more formaldehyde than CARB regulations allow and does not meet the represented durability rating. December 2016: A class-action lawsuit was filed against L.A. Hardwood Flooring for allegedly deceptively advertising that Eternity Floors Chinese-manufactured laminate flooring meets the AC3 or higher industry ratings for durability and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations when, according to plaintiffs, testing shows that the flooring does not meet the represented durability standards and emits nearly three times more formaldehyde than CARB regulations allow.
