LensCrafters
Allegations: Advertising that customers who purchase eyeglasses at LensCrafters receive the benefits of its exclusive AccuFit® Digital Measurement System and obtain their pupillary distance measurement
In July 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against LensCrafters for allegedly deceptively advertising pricing discounts on prescription lenses. Specifically, plaintiffs claim that the retailer advertises specific percentage discounts off of regular prices of lenses when, according to the complaint, the regular price is not displayed until after the purchase and the lenses are never offered for or sold at the regular price. (Seegert et al v. LensCrafters, Inc., Luxottica Retail North America, Inc., Luxottica Group S.P.A., Does 1-50, Case No. 17-cv-1372, S. D. CA.)
