Allegations: Falsely advertising discounts off of artificially inflated reference prices
In April 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against DevaCurl for allegedly misleadingly marketing that its hair products – including No-Poo Original conditioning cleanser, One Condition Original hair conditioner, Light Defining Gel, Wavemaker, and others – provide benefits over other hair products when, according to the complaint, the company does not warn consumers that DevaCurl’s products cause several adverse reactions, including scalp irritation, excessive shedding, hair loss, and balding.
