In July 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Campbell Soup Company for allegedly deceptively marketing its soups as having “No Preservatives Added” and “Made With Patience, Not Preservatives” when, according to plaintiffs, the soups contain the preservatives citric acid and ascorbic acid. (Cabrega et al v. Campbell Soup Co., Case No. 18-cv-3827, E.D.N.Y.)
