July 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Kettle Foods (and amended in September) for allegedly falsely marketing its line of potato chips as being “Made with Natural Ingredients” and containing “No Preservatives” when, according to plaintiffs, the chips contain a synthetic preservative called citric acid. (Mason et al v. Diamond Foods, LLC d/b/a Kettle Foods, Inc., Case No. 18-cv-6423, S.D.N.Y.)
