Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style and Home Style Soups

August 2018: This case was transferred to federal court. (Schwartz et al v. Campbell Soup Co., Case No. 18-cv-1655, S.D. Ill.)

June 2018: A class-action lawsuit was filed against Campbell Soup Co. for allegedly falsely marketing its Slow Kettle Style, Home Style, and Home Style Healthy Request soups – including Tomato & Sweet Basil Bisque, Roasted Red Pepper & Smoke Gouda Bisque, New England Clam Chowder, Harvest Tomato with Basil, Zesty Tomato, and Harvest Tomato with Basil – as being “Made With Patience, Not Preservatives” and having “No Preservatives Added” when, according to plaintiffs, the soups do contain the preservatives citric acid, ascorbic acid, and succinic acid. (Schwartz et al v. Campbell Soup Co., Case No. 18-L-441, Circuit Court for the 20th Judicial Circuit, County of St. Clair, State of Illionois)
