Allegations: Falsely marketing products as natural when they contain synthetic ingredients
In June 2017, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Blue Buffalo Pet Products for, among other things, allegedly deceptively advertising that dog food – including Blue Wilderness Chicken Recipe for Small Breed Adult Dogs, Blue Freedom Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Small Breed Adult Dogs, and Blue Basics Grain-Free Turkey & Potato Recipe for Adult Dogs – is healthy and safe without adequately disclosing the dog food contains, according to the complaint, an unsafe amount of lead and may cause health problems for dogs.
