August 2012: A false advertising class-action lawsuit was filed against Johnson & Johnson (and amended in December 2012) alleging that the high SPF Aveeno products were falsely advertised as offering more sun protection than lower SPF sunscreen products when, in reality, they don’t provide any more benefit than SPF 50 sunscreen products. The lawsuit also challenges Johnson & Johnson’s use of the terms “sunblock,” “waterproof,” and “long-lasting protection.” (Guillermina Contreras v.
