As part of its 2023 investigation into 100 MLM companies, notifies Young Living of its findings that the company has used atypical income claims to market its business opportunity.

March 21

Prompted by’s February 2022 complaint, the DSSRC issues a second case decision finding that Young Living removed the video at issue.

February 7 files a supplemental complaint with the DSSRC notifying it of a Young Living distributor making claims that the company’s essential oils and supplements can prevent, treat and mitigate the symptoms of COVID-19.

February 20

The DSSRC issues a decision stating that Young Living distributors have been making unsubstantiated health claims to sell products and recommends that the company cease using such claims.

June 3 files a complaint with the DSSRC urging it to investigate Young Living’s unsubstantiated health claims and take action.

December 18 sends a letter to Young Living (as part of’s 2017 investigation into all DSA-member companies) informing it of’s findings that the company is making false and unsubstantiated income claims to promote its business opportunity.

November 22 sends a letter to Young Living (as part of its 2016 investigation into all DSA-member companies selling nutritional supplements) informing it of’s findings that the company is making inappropriate health claims about its products.

September 22

The FDA sends a warning letter to Young Living for, among other things, marketing its products as unapproved drugs.
