Nickelodeon ran ads for its “SpongeBob” Splashpants Sweepstakes, which directed children to a website where they could enter a sweepstake with the grand prize of a Nickelodeon Cruise featuring SpongeBob himself. But the Children’s Advertising Review Unit “questioned whether the odds of winning were clearly disclosed during the commercial.”
Nickelodeon stopped airing the ad, and said that it would make sure sweepstakes odds were clearly displayed in ads in the future.
