LeafFilter Gutter Guard: ‘Keeps You Off the Ladder’
Gutter cleaning is dirty and annoying. So is deceptive marketing.
This is not an ad alert for life in general — life’s not fair, get over it. But we at TINA.org are trying to make the ads a little more fair. So this is instead an ad alert for “How Life Works,” an advertorial website that advertises on other websites. Wrap your mind around that.
Perhaps you’ve seen their ads:
Each of those links takes you to a different advertorial page. Each pages looks like a real article on something like building muscle, getting cheap cruises, or improving your brain, but the articles are actually pitching you some product or service you can sign up for at the bottom of the page. The articles do note that they are sponsored, but only at the very bottom of the article and the disclosure is easy to miss.
Consumers should know that “How Life Works” is loaded with advertisements and advertorials that are poorly marked as such. For more on native content, click here.
Our Ad Alerts are not just about false and deceptive marketing issues, but may also be about ads that, although not necessarily deceptive, should be viewed with caution. Ad Alerts can also be about single issues and may not include a comprehensive list of all marketing issues relating to the brand discussed.
